Hannah is a British-Irish photographer based in Birmingham, UK, creating imagery that feels instinctive, nostalgic and deeply human. Her work moves between quiet observation and subtle direction — balancing documentary honesty with an editorial sensibility that never feels forced. The result is photography that feels both artful and alive: images that hold atmosphere, movement and memory in equal measure.
Originally working in wildlife photography, Hannah was shortlisted for Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2022. That experience continues to shape the way she photographs people today. Rooted in patience, intuition and attentiveness, her approach is guided by an ability to anticipate moments before they unfold — noticing the in-between gestures, fleeting glances and emotional undercurrents that often become the most enduring photographs.

Welcome, I'm hannah

Alongside this documentary instinct, Hannah brings a composed and thoughtful eye for framing, light and texture. Gentle guidance is woven naturally into her process when needed, creating imagery that feels relaxed yet refined; effortless rather than overly posed.
Her aesthetic draws heavily from film photography and the visual language of the 90s — minimalist compositions softened by negative space sit alongside immersive, movement-filled frames that feel rich with emotion and atmosphere. There is a tactile quality to her work: photographs that breathe, linger and feel lived in.

Paragraph

Becoming a parent in 2025 deepened this philosophy further. Since the arrival of her daughter, Clodagh, Hannah has become even more connected to the emotional weight photographs can carry — the ability to hold both the chaos and tenderness of everyday life at once. Working across digital, film and Polaroid, she embraces a slower and more intentional rhythm of image-making, creating photographs that feel honest, tactile and enduring.

Hannah creates photographs with nothing to prove, but everything to say — images that feel cinematic yet intimate, nostalgic yet contemporary. Always grounded in emotion, light and composition, her work captures both the beauty of the carefully planned and the magic of the unexpected.
Based in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, with her partner Tom, daughter Clodagh and cat Skye, Hannah photographs weddings, families and personal milestones across the UK and Europe.
